Bio
Mrs. Amy Moore is the Director of Bands at Pelham Park Middle School in Pelham, AL where she has served since 2000. She is currently in her twenty-ninth year of teaching and has taught in Shelby and Winston County school systems. Mrs. Moore is a 1996 Graduate of the University of Montevallo with a Master of Music – Emphasis in Instrumental Music Education degree. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Montevallo in 1993. Under Mrs. Moore’s direction, the Pelham Park Middle School band program, formerly Riverchase Middle, has grown to include 20 percent of the student body, over 200 students. PPMS bands have consistently received superior ratings at the Alabama Bandmasters Association State Music Performance Assessment and other regional competitions. Mrs. Moore has been awarded the University of Montevallo Highest Honors Certificate, Outstanding Graduate Student in Music Education, Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Harrison LeBaron Music Award, Senior Elite Music Education Award, and the Certificate of Merit.  She was the Falcon Band Guest Clinician of the University of Montevallo Honor Band Festival in 2016, the Clarinet Choir Guest Conductor of the University of Montevallo Single Reed Symposium in 2019 and is a professional member of NAfME, AMEA, and ABA.  Mrs. Moore believes that through music education, students will develop life skills and tools necessary to have a successful and prosperous life. She and her husband, Michael, live in Hoover with their son, Matthew, who is completing  his own band journey with Pelham schools.  They enjoy spending time with friends and family.
